Cathy's Crawly Composters received the 1st Annual Environmental Leadership
Award at the East Gwillimbury Chamber of Commerce Spirit of Success
gala event, sponsored by TD Canada Trust in Mt. Albert. Cathy Nesbitt,
founder of Cathy's Crawly Composters, has been working to raise awareness
and acceptance of vermicomposting, using red wiggler worms.
"We endeavour to make worms fun and shift people's perspective about them,"
Nesbitt says. "We continue to make people laugh and admire the lowly worm. They
truly are "angels of the earth".
Recognition of Nesbitt's efforts to popularize worms and vermicomposting has
been recorded for posterity.
