Perennial Swap benefits local schoolyards
They came from as far away as Holland Landing and Pefferlaw, and they did not come empty-handed.
Avid gardeners, busily dividing their perennials for the fall, attended a "Perennial Swap" at the Bradford home of Connie Swindle on September 12th - to share and exchange plants.
Participants could drop off unwanted perennials, and pick up new species for the garden - and all of the leftovers went to Youth Horticultural clubs at Sir William Osler Public School and St. Charles Elementary, to beautify the schoolyards. In all, 80 perennials, plus seeds, were donated to the two schools.
