Healthy Balance 4 You - Worms Anyone? This past Christmas I purchased some red wiggly worms for my husband...oh he likes gardening, so all good! Surprisingly for pets, they are very quiet and are free to feed. The end result will provide us with food for the garden, and trees. I like that it helps us be self-sustaining and contribute to the environment.
It was a great investment and Cathy was very helpful and I must say very entertaining. No lack of passion there!
I always enjoy learning something new...how about you? Enjoy the learnings and pass along to those gardeners you know.

Wo-Built Inc: Design + Build Construction Company - From Worms to Green Building ... I normally don’t write about my private life, but I got new pets, 800 to 1000 to be precise. And I had them for a week and a half and they are still alive!!! They are red wiggler worms (scientific name: Eisenia foetida), they live in a composting bin in my kitchen and they eat my organic kitchen waste.

Suhujitha and I have been very excited to have a functioning worm chalet in the office. Everyone else, it seems, has been either neutral or disturbed by the idea that we would be composting our office waste using this method. We are apparently a fruit-eating office here and since the City of Toronto doesn't pick up green bins from businesses, our compost waste ends up in the trash. Well, not any more.
