Honours those making a positive difference in our environment.
NEWMARKET – November 1, 2012 –Each year the Lake
Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA) honours individuals,
businesses or groups within our watershed, who are making
small changes that add up to big differences - one step at
a time.
"We present these Conservation Awards to recognize and
celebrate our watershed heroes - the individuals and groups
who demonstrate that by working together, we can find a true
sense of balance where human needs can be satisfied without
sacrificing our natural environment," said Mayor Virginia
Hackson, LSRCA Chair.
LSRCA handed out 27 awards in the categories of Water Conservation; Soil Conservation; Education; Media Recognition, Conservation Award of Merit and Volunteer Recognition.
